Mike Deming, designer of De-Bug, Beach Wheelchairs listened when customers expressed desire for more independence. Taking their feedback to heart, he designed a ratcheting self propulsion system so one can manually push across the sand. This unique feature has a trigger actuated reverse mechanism, giving hands on control and excellent maneuverability. Because pushing any chair through soft sand or uphill requires good upper body strength, the ratcheting self propulsion is designed for strong paraplegics. The ratchets are easily removable, so that people with more significant disabilities can enjoy using the De-Bug when pushed from behind.

De-Bug, Beach Chairs have many other unique features. For example, the castering & articulating rear suspension pivots allowing all four wheels to remain in contact with the ground, when going over uneven terrain. The seating angle can be adjusted, giving more comfort. De-Bug will fit through a standard three foot doorway, and will easily turn 360 degrees on a four foot ramp. This chair can be scaled to fit Anyone!

THE MANUFACTURER

Deming Design is a Florida company.

Karen and Mike Deming love the ocean. In 1990, 8 months after they were married, Karen 's neck was snapped in a car accident and she was left a quadriplegic. Mike dedicated himself full-time to designing some sort of a wheelchair that could provide Karen with easier access outdoors.

Deming Designs markets a whole family of beach wheelchairs. Their chairs are not merely functional: they also look great !
